Kevin Claridge Vice President for Sponsored Research & Coastal Policy Programs at Mote Marine Laboratory   As Mote Marine Laboratory, Vice President for Sponsored Research and Coastal Policy Programs, Kevin guides the operational aspects of Mote’s 20+ research programs - overseeing proposals, budgets, contracts, grants, permits, collaboration agreements, policies, facility needs, and personnel issues. He also serves as Administrator for the Florida Red Tide Mitigation and Technology Development Initiative, a six-year $18 million partnership with the State of Florida, and acts as Operating Manager for the five-year $7.5 million collaboration with NOAA and University of Maryland on the US Harmful Algal Bloom Control Technologies Incubator. Before joining Mote, Kevin worked for 20 years with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection directing statewide coastal management, restoration, and resilience programs; managing state lands and conservation easements; administering Air, Waste, Water Facility, and Environmental Resource Regulatory Programs in Southeast Florida; leading large scale mine reclamation efforts in Central Florida; and guiding watershed scale projects associated with Deepwater Horizon and Everglades restoration.
