Research Interests

My doctoral research in Dr. Place's lab focused on the link between diet and inflammation and the potential for dietary taurine to mitigate gastrointestinal inflammation. This research advises feed formulation for the aquaculture industry and the development of treatments for patients with inflammatory bowel diseases.

I am currently an entrepreneurial postdoc working with Blueblood, a company I co-founded along with Jill Arnold and Brent Whitaker, DVM. We plan to offer a reliable, high-quality source of horseshoe crab blood to the biomedical industry for Food and Drug Administration-mandated safety testing while promoting the conservation of wild horseshoe crabs.
