Staff Positions

Faculty Research Assistant

Seeking a full-time highly motivated Faculty Research Assistant to join our efforts in research on water treatment for land-based recirculating saline aquaculture systems specifically for denitrification/anammox and biogas bioreactors and desalination of processed solid waste. Candidate will conduct community gene analysis on denitrification/anammox and methanogenic communities and develop treatment of bioreactor solid waste for use as a soil amendment. This will require troubleshooting, accurately documenting experiments, and data reporting. The candidate will also be responsible for supervising undergraduate students.

Assistant Professor

The Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology (IMET) of the University System of Maryland seeks applications for the position of Assistant Professor (tenure-track).  The successful candidate will have a track-record of outstanding research using molecular biology/genetics approaches to study health and disease in marine organisms.  Candidates’ research may address mechanisms of infectious disease or the impact of climate change on the health of aquatic organisms and ecosystems. Candidates with an interest in practical applications of their fundamental research are encouraged to apply. A demonstrated ability or potential to establish a well-funded research program and a commitment to diversity and inclusion is expected for the successful candidate.
