Coordinator (Columbus Center Operations)

Columbus Center Operations is seeking a professional Coordinator to manage the Columbus Center Event Program and to assist the Director of Administration with various contract agreements for facilities rentals, lease agreements and incubator agreements.  The incumbent will be responsible for managing the Columbus Center event program and assisting the Director of Administration with managing various contract agreements for facilities rentals, lease agreements and incubator agreements. 

Specific duties include:  recruiting events to be held at the Columbus Center; creating and providing quotes for event rentals and leasing of space; drafting event terms and agreements; developing marketing materials; scheduling Columbus Center building tours; managing the event process from the initial agreement to providing assistance and services as needed on the date of the event;  managing the building occupancy database and floor plans;  maintaining lease files; drafting  lease agreements for new tenants and modifications for existing tenants; co-managing IMET events with the IMET Assistant to the Director; updating the Columbus Center website; creating a monthly Columbus Center newsletter for building occupants; providing back up for other departmental related administrative functions such Procurement, Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable and Payroll/HR; and performing other duties as assigned.  Some evening and weekend hours required.

Assistant Director (IMET)

The duties of this position include: overseeing the Harbor Launch Business Incubator at IMET and recruitment of early stage companies; managing the Ratcliffe Environmental Entrepreneur Fellow (REEF) Program; working with IMET faculty members to assist them in interactions with commercial partners; performing a lead role in coordinating complex projects and collaborations across the IMET partner institutions, including proposal writing and review for these projects; assisting with inception of program ideas, and coordinating with faculty and grant managers on preparing and submitting proposals; assisting with overall administrative and operational functions of the Institute; compiling financial reports for the IMET Director and tracking intellectual property, licensing and commercial interactions; fostering global collaborations through the execution of MOUs with international universities; and assisting with outreach initiatives to broaden IMET’s interactions with the public.

Manager (Harbor Launch Incubator) - Contractual

The Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology (IMET) seeks to hire an Incubator Manager who will be responsible for coordinating the activities of the IMET Harbor Launch business incubator by working collaboratively with incubator clients, Maryland State agencies, resource providers, economic development entities, and the business community. The Incubator Manager oversees and facilitates the operation of Harbor Launch by coordinating services and providing business development assistance to incubator tenants. The position requires the ability to work independently while demonstrating a positive, purpose-oriented work ethic and enthusiasm, dedication, and commitment in assisting local startups to form and grow. The Incubator Manager will promote and market business incubation services and capabilities to the local business community and build strong relationships between the business community, local government and IMET. He/she will facilitate entrepreneurial and leadership education programs. The Incubator Manager must be comfortable working in a dynamic environment where change is common and must be a team player but also self-directed and motivated. Flexibility is required for occasional evening and weekend work. The Incubator Manager will report to the Assistant Director of IMET.
