NOAA RDML Tim Gallaudet visits IMET

This May, IMET was visited by RDML Tim Gallaudet, Ph.D., USN Ret., Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere and Acting Under Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere at NOAA, and Paul Doremus, Ph.D., who is performing the duties of Assistant Secretary for Conservation and Management at NOAA.
Dr. Gallaudet and Dr. Doremus met with students and faculty, as well as with a former intern who was funded through a NOAA grant. They discussed IMET's role in increasing diversity in the marine sciences and the need to continue this work. Dr. Yoni Zohar led a tour of the Aquaculture Research Center and highlighted the current research projects at IMET.
