2020 Election

The 2020 General Election will be held November 3.

If you are a U.S. citizen, ycou must be registered to vote. You can do this at this USA.gov website. Each state has their own voter registration rules. If you are registered to vote in a state other than Maryland, here you can look up important dates at your state board of elections. If you are unsure if you are registered, please complete the 'Can I Vote' form found on this page.


If you are a registered voter in Maryland, there are two ways to vote: 

Vote by mail

If you are choosing to vote by mail, you need to request a mail-in ballot. The deadline to request a ballot by mail is (received by) Tuesday, October 20, 2020.

There are three ways to request a main-in ballot:

1. Fill out this online form 
2. Complete and return (by mail, fax, or email) this form
3. Visit your local board of elections and fill out the form. 

Once you receive your mail-in ballot, you can mail or hand deliver it to a voting location, a ballot drop off box (list found here), or your local board of elections. You cannot email or fax your voted mail-in ballot. 

Vote in person

Vote in person at the polls on November 3. View a list of your nearest polling place and directions. 

In Maryland, the early voting period runs from Monday, October 26, 2020 to Monday, November 2, 2020.
