Blue Crabs are an important species for the Chesapeake Bay’s ecology, economy, and culture. IMET scientists were the first in the world to successfully breed blue crabs, or to close the life cycle. This means that the scientists need to know how to keep crabs happy and healthy. We need to keep water at the right temperature and salinity, or salt level. We also need to know what to feed our crustacean friends!
