IMET Seminar: Dr. Miriam Johnston

Nov 04, 2026 at 12:00 PM to Nov 04, 2026 at 1:00 PM

Dr. Miriam Johnston is a collaborative global change ecologist, guided by curiosity and a sustainability ethic, with a strong affinity for figuring things out. She is broadly interested in terrestrial ecosystem response to disturbance and climatic stress, and has particular interest in forests, the effects of drought and fire, and applications of thermal remote sensing. Having taken a winding road through academia and across the country, she is delighted to be back in her home state of Maryland. Outside of research, Miriam enjoys cycling, potlucking, and hiking with an over-enthusiastic border terrier. Newly, she spends most of her free time studying simian development at close quarters.
