In case you missed it in person, check out the recording of the public lecture given by IMET's newest faculty member, Dr. Helen Dooley (Assistant Professor, University of Maryland Baltimore). Dr. Dooley's talk, titled "Can sharks help us cure human disease?", provides an exciting look into her research utilizing comparative immunology to explore the similarities between the immune systems of sharks and humans to discover ways to better detect and treat disease.

In addition to IMET's three, free public lectures in the Fall, make sure to check out the IMET Open House event annually in May where we open up the doors and allow members of the public to meet with our scientists and to get an inside look at our state-of-the-art research facility in downtown Baltimore.
